I am Delia Munteanu (b. 1983, Romania). My family fled Romania as political refugees after the 1989 Revolution. In those uncertain years, paper and pencils were always there for me – something I could return to, no matter what.

Alongside my work as a graphic designer, I develop a personal visual practice that moves between drawing and painting, often on a large scale. Charcoal is a recurring medium, but not the only one – I am drawn to materials that allow for intensity, contrast and layered expression.

My work reflects on themes of individualism, connection, intolerance and the rise of artificial intelligence. Through movement, transparency and structure I search for images that reveal both vulnerability and confrontation.
